Frank Hardy:  The elder of the two Hardy Boys, Frank originated as being sixteen years old, then gradually worked his way up to age eighteen.  He is an extremely handsome six-foot-one, with a lean build, and has brown hair and brown eyes, like his father.  Over the years, Frank has become known as the “thinking” Hardy Brother, but this description is deceptive: Frank is as athletically-skilled as his younger brother; he merely doesn’t pack the developed muscles that Joe does.  He holds his own on the football field, the basketball court, the baseball diamond, and is skilled in martial arts.  Frank is highly intelligent, and known to be very knowledgeable about computers; he plays chess, fences, and always wants to learn everything he can about anything; this curiosity serves him well when solving cases.  He is cool-headed and analytical, but possesses a warm, caring heart, and a well-developed sense of humor, too.

The boys are both skilled with various sorts of weaponry and firearms; they are capable pilots, they are both well-acquainted with hand-to-hand combat and fighting techniques; they are expert swimmers and divers, they are knowledgeable about machinery and motors, and if necessary, they can disarm bombs. They are always ready to help their friends or acquaintances, and they are determined to make detective work their careers.

Although the books stop with them eternally 17 and 18 years of age, fanfiction has carried Frank and Joe further into the future, and we who love them have watched them grow and mature with the greatest delight.
