Epilogue: A couple days later in Bayport, two young ladies check their email: TO: FRANKSGIRL@cyberlinc.net; NESSAB@rexrovershome.com FROM: FHARDYSLEUTH2@hardy_detective.com SUBJECT: An update from Frank & Joe Dear Callie & Vanessa, Frank writing, FYI; Joe’s peering over my shoulder and will be adding his two-cents here in a minute, that’s why we’re sending this to both of you. Sorry that it has been a few days since we last wrote. After we helped the sheriff round up Matoka and Bull in the canyon, they were arrested and we had hours of questioning to go through. When we finally got back to the apartment, I only had time to drop you that brief note about the arrest before falling asleep. Then, of course, it was a big rush to get ready for Chris & Catherine’s wedding. Everything had been put on hold during the Campton investigation. The wedding itself was awesome, but I’ll let my little brother tell you about it. If I don’t, he’s liable to bruise me with all the pounding he’s doing on my back! Joe here: Hey Callie; Hey, Babe! (I really miss you!!!!) Like Frank said, the wedding was totally awesome – and the BEST PART?? :) NO TUX!!! Yup! It was western-style! All us guys (Chris, too) wore jeans and these blue and white western shirts with fringe on the sleeves and the trim on front and back. I thought they looked kinda sissy-like until I saw Dave (Cath’s brother) in his. He looked totally cool, so I figured it was all right. All the girls wore jean skirts and ruffled shirts in red with white trim. Everyone had on cowboy hats and boots – Chris took Frank and me to a saddle shop to get some, since we didn’t have any to bring with us. You girls would have really been blown away by Catherine’s dress. I’m no fashion expert, but the dress was incredible. It was white and lacey, with long white fringe on the sleeves. She had white boots and a white cowboy hat, complete with a veil! The wedding was outside on Friday morning and God out-did Himself with the weather – picture perfect and the temperature was warm, but not too hot. The only thing that didn’t go quite like it was planned, was the bestman deal. Frank can explain it. Frank again: Chris had originally asked me if Joe & I would be okay sharing the bestman duties. Of course, we said that was fine. Chris pulled us aside just before the rehearsal and asked a favor, would Joe and I step down so he could ask Dave Kelhoyouma to be his bestman? Knowing it would be a great step in building a better relationship between them, we readily agreed. I think Dave was shocked, but he agreed to do it. Like Joe mentioned, the wedding was outside in Mesa Verde at the Soda Canyon Overlook. Mom and Dad got here for the rehearsal and took lots of pictures, so you’ll get to see how beautiful it is here. Joe and I, as well as Phil, Chet, Biff and Luke, are staying through the weekend and doing some camping, since we really didn’t get to before the wedding. We won’t be home until Tuesday or Wednesday, but I promise to email more often. ‘Bye for now, Vanessa. Callie, I love you! Hey, Joe again: Just wanted to say ‘bye. Take care Cal; Love you, ‘Ness! Like Frank said, we should be home Tues. or Weds. – that is, unless another mystery comes along before then ;)! See You Soon, Frank & Joe THE END
