"Was this all like a typical event in the life of the Hardy brothers?" asked Kendall Preston, handing a slice of pizza to Joe Hardy. Kendall, Lindsey, Davy, Denny, Frank and Joe sat in the Hardy’s kitchen back in Bayport.
Joe looked over at Frank and smiled.
"This case was a little different," Frank began.
"I’ll say," continued Joe, "like the fact that no one hired us, we didn’t get paid, I got shot and this all got started because of my good looks!"
"Yeah, right!" laughed Frank, shaking his head, "but we did get something pretty special from all this."
"What’s that, Frank?" asked Lindsey.
"A bunch of great cousins!" Frank stated, but then looked at Davy Preston and added, "Well, most of them are great, anyway!"
Davy blushed and joined in the laughter.

A reunion was planned at the cottage on Barmet Bay. Jack Wayne had stayed in Alcott to fly the Thompsons to Bayport as soon as Maggie Thompson felt well enough to travel. Knowing she would be with Caty and the children, she felt as good as new in just a day.
Laura Hardy couldn’t have been happier. She always loved her brothers dearly, but to have an older sister was too good to be true. She made arrangements for her brothers, Mark, Mike, Chuck and Dave, along with their families, to be in Bayport for the reunion The men were all thrilled at the chance of meeting their ‘new’ sister.
The weekend of the reunion was a huge success! Everyone enjoyed getting to know each other, sharing family stories and exchanging pictures. Richie Collins had even found a printer who agreed to do a rush job and had calendars printed up with everyone’s birth date and anniversary recorded on it for each family. It was a wonderful keepsake for all.
Monday afternoon, the entire group, along with all of the Hardy’s friends, attended a special performance by the Preston Family. Everyone was surprised when Joe and Frank joined the Prestons on stage for a number they had written with Kendall. The song was titled, "A Family is Love", Frank and Joe’s baritone voices blended well with the Prestons. The performance received a standing ovation.
Later that evening, there was a melancholy mood, as each family said their good-byes and headed for their respective homes. Needing to be away from the hugs and tears for a while, Lindsey Preston slipped quietly out of the back door and walked toward the beach.
She walked along the beach and noticed a lone figure sitting on a piece of driftwood and tossing pebbles into the surf.
"Joe?" Lindsey asked. Joe Hardy jumped and nearly fell off the log he was perched on.
"Scare a guy to death, why don’t you!" he said, dramatically clutching his chest. Lindsey smiled as Joe moved over to make room for her on the log. She noticed that he wasn’t wearing his sling anymore.
"Sorry to scare you. How is your shoulder?" she asked.
"Okay. A little stiff, maybe." He tossed another stone and watched it disappear under sea foam.
"What are you thinking about?" Lindsey asked, seeing a smile come to Joe’s face.
"Remember when we first met? At Mr. Pizza?" Joe replied with a grin.
"I’ll never forget!" She said with a laugh.
"Who would have ever thought things would turn out like this!" Joe stated with a shake of his head, "We’re cousins!"
"Is that a bad thing?" Lindsey inquired, raising her eyebrows in mock offence.
"Nope!" Joe answered enthusiastically, "Especially since I get to go to all your concerts for free now!" The End
