Plot Blurb:

Joe and Frank are on a “strictly detection-free vacation” on a tour of historical England…that’s what THEY think!

A chance meeting at the airport with a young married couple (who help them apprehend a would be bag snatcher) brings them into contact with the arcane and strange world of medieval re-enactment. The Hardy Brothers find themselves becoming friends with a band of eccentric warriors known as the Conroi du Burm – made up of two argumentative brothers, an archery loving student from New Zealand, a sword wielding feminist, a Frank Hardy look-alike and a health-obsessed Jeweller!

The Hardys spend a stress free, first few days site-seeing. This includes a visit, with the Conroi du Burm, to a local re-enactment fair and market. A chance purchase of a beautiful finger ring by the group brings about a chain of events, which culminates in the tragic and suspicious death of one of their number. This ensures that the brothers are unable to stick to their “strictly detection-free vacation” rule.

Dodging swords, donning chain mail armour and hand-to-hand combat is the least of their worries…when murder is on the cards!

Splash Page:

..."Frank, who’d been pacing angrily up and down, rushed to pick up the telephone. “YEAH?” he snapped. The others watched anxiously as he listened intently for a few seconds to a muted voice. They saw his face pale and jumped as he threw the receiver down with a resounding crash. Rushing to the front door, he swung it wide and they were astounded to find Joe, lying across the threshold, wrapped in a blanket and blindfolded. He was unconscious!"...
