This is the first school day for Frank Hardy, the only son of Fenton and
Laura Hardy, and when he arrives at Bayport High he meets a new guy named
Joe Stevenson who, along with his father Paul, moved to Bayport from
Chicago 3 days ago. At the same time Fenton Hardy is told that the
criminal he's been trying to catch for 17 years now is back to Bayport;
the strangest thing is that Luis Antoneskou, the criminal, starts to
threaten the Stevensons, eager to make them leave Bayport. Fenton is desperate
for the criminal as only Antoneskou knows what happened to Fenton's
younger son who was kidnapped by Antoneskou 17 years ago. Do miracles
still happen? Splash
page: …There
was only one thought in his head at the moment. “I can’t believe I've
found you!” he whispered happily, his face breaking into a weary smile.
However his smile vanished and his face fell as Joe replied. “Accept
my congratulations,” Joe suddenly retorted before walking past Fenton
and continuing his way down the bridge. How dared he! “Wha-…”
He expected any kind of reaction from Joe, but the one he’d received was
beyond all his suppositions. “Joe, wait!! I have to tell you something.
Something very important!” Fenton started to run after him. “Please,
don’t go away!” Joe
stopped, inhaling deeply. “Leave-me-ALONE!!” he said between clenched
teeth. “I don’t want to see you! Do you hear me??” he turned
around to face Fenton Hardy, his eyes flashing anger. “Never come back
after me!! Get the hell out of my life! I don’t want you in it!” “Joe….”
what is going on? why is he so angry? “Let me explain! You
don’t even know what it is that I want to tell you.” “Yes,
I do know! Damn it, I know too well just what it is,
Fenton!!” Joe shouted. “Or should I call you John? Or is there another
name you want me to call you???” “Dad.” “What?” “I…I
want you to call me Dad…” Special
notes:
Not a typical Hardy Boys story where the brothers solve another case. The
reason is simple - there are no Hardy Brothers. Maybe, only yet. |
