Title: Creature of The Hills Type of Story: Original Character in the Hardy Style Rating of Story: PG Main Characters: The Kramer family including Laura Kramer’s family Warnings: None Plot Blurb: It’s Christmas, the Kramer family is in need of a vacation. Carl Kramer has just the place--- Sugar Creek, Ohio. Nestled in the foothills of southern Ohio, the Kramers are going to spend the holidays with Laura's family and get to know their Appalachian roots… and find themselves in the middle of a mystery. A creature who is said to wander the hills of this rural river community. Will Jason and Adam find the secret to the Moth Man and expose a 35-year-old myth or will they find out that the creature really does exist? Splash Page: "Okay, the joke is over! Get on out here and show yourself. We are not falling for that one again, right Jake?" Adam yelled out. His words slurred as he fearlessly challenged the figure in the shadows. But neither of the two boys was prepared to handle what site their eyes saw next. The creature swooped out of its hiding spot and was coming right for them. Trembling with fear, both boys awoke from their drunken state and started to run for their lives. Jake was in the lead followed very closely by Adam. They ran and fell down the hill. Adam looked back to see if they had lost the creature, but he was still met with the same hideous sight. Jake did not miss a step as he guided Adam along the ravine and eventually to the log bridge at Tucker's Run. He slowly inched his way across the log by crawling on his hands and knees. He instructed Adam to do the same, but Adam was not able to balance his body. He fell into the cold waters of the knee-deep creek. Special Notes: We hope you enjoy this story as you meet Laura's family and get to know our area and way of life even more. Appalachia folklore is not just stories, but a gateway to our past and our way of life.
