"Thank
you, Richard. The robbery at the South Street Blood Bank has been
solved," said the female reporter into the microphone, standing
outside the very building. "According to the manager who has just
returned from an out of state trip, he was responsible for the missing
blood pouches." The woman turned to an older man with silver hair and
blue eyes. "Mr. Evans, can you tell us what happened?" "The
refrigeration unit for block twelve malfunctioned, spoiling all the blood
stored in that section. I threw them out and called a repairman but a
family emergency called me away before I could let my assistant
know." The man looked decidedly embarrassed. Seated
on the sofa, Frank Hardy yawned. Due to the late night and what had
happened, Fenton and Laura had allowed the brothers to stay home from
school. He reached for the remote only to find it gone. He turned his head
to see Joe leaning over from his chair. "I'm tired of the news. Let's
watch something else." He pressed the channel button, flashing
through the channels with lightning speed. "Slow
down, you passed up a good movie." "I've
had enough of mysteries for awhile. Even with three gorgeous ladies like Charlie's
Angels." Joe kept channel surfing. Frank
sighed and closed his eyes. He hated it when his brother stole the remote. "Ah-ha." Frank
opened his eyes to see some fair-haired man clad in khaki shirt and
shorts, staring right into the camera. His Australian accent was strong as
he talked about the creature he was letting walk down his arm. It was a
huge tarantula. Frank groaned. "Oh, come on, Joe, that guy's
nuts." "He's
awesome." "He
wrestles with snakes and alligators for the thrill. He's
certifiable." Joe grunted but didn't relinquish the remote or change the channel. Frank groaned. Some things never changed.... The
