Splash Page: Joe held up the open baggie and Frank dropped the envelope into it. Then he unfolded the single sheet of paper. He cleared his throat and read aloud:
“ ‘Just three words...the ones I want to hear,
Just three words, what is it you fear?
Just three words, just tell me true;
Just three words...please say I love you.
Just three words...it shouldn't be that hard,
Just three words--please don't push me too far.’ “
Cade went white as a ghost. “How...?” Her voice was weak and she looked ready to collapse.
Ren looked angry. “That song isn’t on our album. We haven’t even done that one in concert yet.”
Drew swallowed hard. “It was in the car with me. I was trying to work out the music for it.”
Joe and Frank shared a worried look. “So he came back and searched the car, but how?” Joe asked, turning to Drew.
Drew shook his head. “I don’t know.”
