Frank and Joe Hardy have been called to Wyoming to check in to the disappearance of cattle from a ranch. The ranch owner suspected his neighbor of taking part of his herd and he wanted the person caught.

Frank looked down at the William’s house. He glanced at Jennifer. He had this feeling Jennifer was hiding something. He felt it had to be something important.

As he was about to ask Jennifer what was bothering her, they heard a gunshot.

Frank’s horse went upon its hind legs. He realized he had loosened his hold on the reins just before he fell off the horse. He hit his head an blacked out.  

 

 

The Hardy Boys belong to Simon and Schuster and the Stratemeyer Foundation. The authors have just borrowed them for an adventure or two.
