As
the bell rang for the end of the day, Joe hurried out to the parking lot.
Now, Joe was really worried. At lunch, Frank had been silent the whole
time with a dazed expression on his face. Frank’s silence really bothered
him.
Joe had seen Frank leaved the building. He wanted to know where his brother was going. He watched as a limousine pulled up to the curb by Frank. A chauffer climbed out and hurried around to the passenger side. The chauffer opened the back door and Frank got in. The chauffer got in after closing the door behind Frank. Joe ran to the van and jumped in. He started the engine and then floored the gas pedal. He pulled into traffic behind the limousine. He thought, Where is Frank going? What is he doing in that limousine? Frank has been acting weird. First he disappears from the theater. But then he shows up at school. He’s quiet all day and looks like a zombie. Joe was really worried. He followed the limousine into the center of town. He watched the limousine speed through a red light leaving him stuck at the light. All of a sudden a tractor-trailer blocked his view. When it passed, the limousine was gone. Joe banged his hand against the steering wheel. He couldn’t believe the limousine was gone. Joe drove through the intersection when the light changed. He scanned the side streets for the limousine, but it was nowhere in sight. He knew he had to find the limousine. He couldn’t believe it was gone. * * * * * Frank slowly opened his eyes. He blinked a few times to bring everything into focus. He moved his head and it started to throb. He moved his head slowly and looked around the dark room. He realized he was stretched out on a bed. He had no idea where he was. He sat up and looked at his watch. It was eight o’clock in the evening. He saw the date. It was Tuesday. He couldn’t believe it was Tuesday. As he looked around, he tried to recall what went on. I was at the movies with Joe, Callie and Vanessa. But that’s it. There has to be something else. There has to be a reason why I ended up here. But where is here? Where am I? Frank slowly climbed off the bed. He was still dizzy as he stood up. He saw the closed door across the room. He was about to move to the door when it opened, letting in a small amount of light. He saw the woman with the long black hair standing there. She asked, "How are you feeling?" "All right," Frank lied as he saw the room spin before his eyes. "But I am confused." "Come," she said. "Let’s sit on the couch." The woman took his hand and led him to the couch along the wall. Frank sat down and the woman began to caress his shoulders. As she continued the motion, he wondered what he was doing there with this woman. She said softly, "You’re here where you want to be. You chose to stay." "I don’t remember," Frank said softly. "We were talking," she said softly. "It was late and you decided to stay. My chauffer gave you a ride to school and you asked for a ride back here at the end of the day." "I don’t remember that," Frank said, closing his eyes. She continued caressing his shoulders. "You can leave if you want." "I’m not sure I want to leave. I don’t think I have anything to go to." He leaned back. "There’s no where else I want to be." Frank opened his eyes. He turned to look at the woman. "I’m not going anywhere." The woman touched his face. A moment later, their lips met.
