Pen Name: hbfan26 Board Name: hbfan26 Real Name: Caren Age: 24 Location: Ireland Time Zone: GMT What's your Occupation? Online Sales/Marketing Brief bio: I’m an internet fanatic (esp. Google, ask anyone!), I studied Marketing in college and the aim eventually is to go into lecturing. I’m on only child with the best Mum in the whole world ever (!) and the other love of my life is a 2 year old sheepdog cross called Peggy! I love to read and write fan-fiction. I also do a bit of athletics and cross country when I can and love to travel! When did you start reading the Hardy Boys? I was probably about 8 or 9 Who started you reading the Hardy Boys? My cousin who was a couple of years older gave me three or four because she was going to (gasp) throw them out! When did you start writing Fan fiction? About two months ago! (March 2004) Who is your favorite character? JOE What attracts you to the Hardy Boys? The relationship between the two brothers. What is your favorite Hardy Boys Series? The Casefiles, especially the earlier ones. What is your favorite Hardy Boys Book? Dead on Target What is your favorite Hardy Boys moment? The fight scene between Joe and Al Rousasa in ‘Dead on Target’, and the dialogue between the brothers when the assassin falls to his death. What is your favorite Hardy Boys moment in your own stories? Em, can you have a favorite scene from 1.5 stories?? I like the dialogue between Frank and Joe at the end of Even when she Cried Who is your favorite original character in your own stories? All mine are baddies so far, although I am quite proud of Fenton Radley. How would you describe your fan fic? Overly dramatic and angst ridden with a few twists! Which of the Hardy Boys books are you familiar with and/or own: I admit I’m not a great collector of books, I have about twenty random digests and the first 20 or so casefiles and that’s about it. Anything else you would like to add? I always like the Hardy Boys, but could never really figure out why. The books were never the main attraction, and although I liked the story lines, they alone couldn’t explain why, years later I still found my self re-reading certain scenes in certain stories and making up my own stories in my head. I think to a certain extent I crave the idea of having a close relationship with someone. I have friends, yes, and always seem have people to see and places to go but whilst I can be the life and soul of a party I guess that I rarely share my feelings with anyone. That’s what drew me to the Hardy’s, and what drew me in to the world of fanfiction. I can live that relationship vicariously through them. It may not sound like such a good idea but I’ve made a lot of friends so thank you!
