EVERGREEN

aka

JD

Pen Name:  Evergreen

Board Name:  JD  [well, actually JD 999, but let's not be formal, here]

Real Name (optional and FIRST name or nickname only):  let's not go there...

Age (range):   Considerably over 40

Location:  The Willamette Valley of Oregon, USA

Time Zone:  Pacific

What's your Occupation?:  homemaker

Brief bio:  Native Oregonian, youngest of three girls, have a degree in elementary education I never used because I discovered I hated teaching; married to a dentist, we have two sons, ages 26 and 23.  Somewhat musically inclined; I've been singing in choirs since I was in the fourth grade.  A sort of 'empty nester-er' at this point, I suppose.

When did you start reading the Hardy Boys?:  I really can't remember -- probably about age 8 or so

Who started you reading the Hardy Boys?:  no idea

When did you start writing Fan fiction?:  Fall of 2000, I believe, creating September Song in an online collaboration with Silverfern of New Zealand. I've also started dabbling in writing Sentinel fanfic, in the last six months, but it's not posted anywhere; it's mostly for my own amusement and ego-trip!

Who is your favorite character?:  Frank, of course!

What attracts you to the Hardy Boys?:  Hey, they're smart, good-looking, exciting to read about...what's not to like?

What is your favorite Hardy Boys Series?  Casefiles

What is your favorite Hardy Boys Book?:  I'm pretty fond of Nowhere to Run, Mayhem in Motion, and Campaign of Crime, but picking a favorite is difficult

What is your favorite Hardy Boys moment?:  Can't pick one, but there are an awful lot of funny things in Mayhem in Motion I like!

What is your favorite Hardy Boys moment in your own stories?:  It's difficult to choose -- since I co-write, a lot of the BEST scenes aren't ones I actually wrote.  I think I'd choose the rescue of Megan, by Jack Wayne and Dani Tanner, from the burning bell tower, in September Reprise.  Or possibly Joe's graduation, in Fanfare for June.

Who is your favorite original character in your own stories?:  Megan Wright, no question!

How would you describe your fan fic?  Alternate Universe because they're older -- they started out at 17 and 18, and are steadily aging with each story; but other than that, and adding a different girl for Frank, they're pretty Casefile-ish.  Definitely more romance-oriented than the published books, however.

Which of the Hardy Boys books we're familiar with and/or own?:  14 Supermysteries, 16 Bluespines, 14 Digests, and 39 Casefiles.  Not a whole set of anything, but I just started gathering them a couple of years ago!  Before that, I owned four bluespines from my childhood and nothing more.

Are your stories open for critiquing? Yes
