Frank just had to get some air, the doctor
said he was planning on releasing him in the morning anyway. He knew he
should of told someone he was leaving hospital grounds, but at this
moment, he just didn't care.
A couple hours later he finally came back into his hospital room to see his mother hugging Joe and sobbing. "Frank!" Joe exclaimed, surprised to see his brother. Fenton, coming out of the bathroom, hearing Joe's shout. "Frank! Where were you?" Hearing the anger in his father's voice, he knew he shouldn't have done what he did, but at the time, he just didn't care, and he knew that was being counter-productive. "I'm sorry," Frank replied meekly, "I knew I shouldn't have." "You're right," Laura came down on him. "I know you're upset about Callie, but you put yourself at risk like that!" "I know," Frank replied. "I just feel so guilty about not being able to protect Callie," he admitted. "Frank," Laura softened. "You and Joe were hurt so someone could get their hands on Callie. According to Vanessa, Callie wasn't hurt in the wreck. So what good would it do to her if you get hurt too? You need to go find her." "But the kidnapper said that he would kill her!" Frank exclaimed, not wanting to harm Callie in any way. "He'll probably kill her anyway," Fenton observed. "I've learned a little bit about this Milt guy." "What's that?" Frank asked, knowing blaming himself wouldn't do anyone any good, especially Callie. "He's mentally unstable," Fenton replied. "As long as he's thinking he's getting what he wants, he'll not harm Callie and we have a chance at getting her back." "But what?" Joe asked. He knew he heard a but coming. "But we can't work directly on this case," Fenton stated. "Especially with you two hurt." "Then what can we do?" Frank asked, knowing his father and mother were right, with this guy being mentally unstable. He probably wouldn't release Callie alive to be able to testify against him if he was caught, and that meant working covertly to get her back, and that would mean enlisting the help of everybody they knew. |
